UFC Light Heavyweight Championship
Jon Jones (Champion) vs. Lyoto Machida(Challenger)
Honestly, Lyoto Machida is possibly the only fighter in the Light Heavyweight division that can challenge Jon Jones. He’s unorthodox and yet extremely technical. Lyoto always keeps his distance and lands major blows, mostly leg kicks, that keeps his opponents both frustrated and off-balance. With all that said, Jon “Bones” Jones has an 84.5” reach that will easily counter any distancing Machida tries. Jones’ wrestling is superb and an underrated part of his game. Look for Jones to close the distance early and dismantle Machida on the ground.
Winner: Jonny “Bones” Jones
Frank Mir vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
When this fight occurred 3 years ago, Mir had a much more polished stand-up game while “Big Nog” relied only on his ability to submit his opponents on the ground with his mastered BJJ technique. This time, it’s a different story. Nogueira just finished Brendan Schaub with his upgraded boxing while Mir has struggled in his past few fights. However, Mir is still the more experienced fighter on his feet and should be able to control this fight on the cage.
Winner: Frank Mir
Tito Ortiz vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira
After Ortiz made that comeback against Ryan Baker and shocked the MMA world by submitting one of the top prospects in the sport, people have somewhat over exaggerated Ortiz’s resurgence. However, I feel like Ortiz’s back is against the wall yet again and “Lil Nog” is with one foot out the door.
Winner: Tito Ortiz
Brian Ebersole vs. Claude Patrick
Ebersole, the man who shaves an arrow into his chest as if he was Superman, was originally slated to compete against the Canadian wonder boy Rory MacDonald. However, MacDonald dropped out due to injury and Patrick was forced to step in. This fight may be a little to early for Claude Patrick. Ebersole is a veteran of the sport and has been unbelievably impressive in his last few fights.
Winner: Brian Ebersole
Mark Hominick vs. Chan Sung Jung
The Korean Zombie takes way too many open shots and Hominick will capitalize.
Winner: Mark Hominick

Igor Pokrajac vs. Krzysztof Soszynski
Winner: Krzysztof Soszynski
Jared Hamman vs. Constantinos Philippou
Winner: Jared Hamman
John Makdessi vs. Dennis Hallman
By the way, Hallman is definitely the guy who wore a man thong is his last fight. Winner: Dennis Hallman
Winner: Walel Watson
Mark Bocek vs. Nik Lentz
Winner: Nik Lentz
Winner: Rich Attonito
Winner: John Cholish

Last Fight Breakdown |
Fedor Emelianenko(W-TKO) - Fast paced brawl between the 2 legends. Hendo capitalized on Fedor’s wild nature on the ground and finished him off using his huge right hand. |
Forrest Griffin(W-KO) - 1st fight after he lost his title to Jon Jones. He showed no signs of rust and absolutely dominated Griffin knocking him out with just over a minute left in the 1st round. |

Fight Breakdown: This fight can end at any time. With Hendo’s wrestling pedigree, Shogun won’t be able to get him to the ground, which should force the two to keep this fight on the feet. Hendo’s punching power can end this fight with one punch, while Shogun’s speed and well rounded striking ability can carry him into the later rounds. Winner: Mauricio “Shogun” Rua
Quick Predix
Wanderlei “The Ax Murderer” Silva Vs Cung Le(185 lbs)
This fight will definitely end with someone knocked out, and it’s hard to say that it won’t be Silva. Cung Le is a superior striker compared to Silva’s last opponent(Chris Leben) in which he KO’ed Silva in a non eventful manner. Even at 39, Le is still on fresh legs and is still one of the strongest strikers in MMA.
Winner: Cung “The Human Highlight Reel” Le
Urijah Faber Vs Brian Bowles(135 lbs)
Urijah Faber is coming off an impressive performance against Dominick Cruz which ended in a controversial decision loss for Faber. Brian Bowles is a good wrestler with really good striking skills. Upset Alert!
Winner: Brian Bowles
Rick Story Vs Martin Kampmann(170 lbs)
Story is coming off an utterly shocking decision loss en route to his title shot. He’ll be focused and ready for this fight, surely.
Winner: Rick Story
Stephan Bonnar Vs Kyle Kingsbury(205 lbs)
Bonnar is easily the more complete fighter, however, Kingsbury is definitely the stronger fighter. Kingsbury is going to look to take this to the ground and control Bonnar much like Mark Coleman did.
Winner: Kyle Kingsbury
Jason Brilz Vs Ryan Bader(205 lbs)
This fight screams “tune-up” fight. Ryan Bader has had back-to-back losses after being deemed the top prospect in the Light Heavyweight division. I believe Dana White set this fight up to get Bader back on track.
Winner: Ryan Bader
Alex Soto Vs Michael McDonald(135 lbs)
Michael McDonald is on a tear at 135 and shouldn’t have much of a problem with UFC newbie, Alex Soto.
Winner: Michael McDonald
Tom Lawlor Vs Chris Weidman(185 lbs)
Weidman, who is both strong at BJJ and boxing, will not have an easy fight against Lawlor. Lawlor like to make his competitors work and he will definitely make Weidman earn this victory.
Winner: Chris Weidman
Rafael Dos Anjos Vs Gleison Tibau(155 lbs)
This is a great matchup in which could go either way. Dos Anjos and Tibau should make this one interesting. Tibau is big at 155 and should be able to control the stand up game.
Winner: Gleison Tibau
Nick Pace Vs Miguel Torres(135 lbs)
Although not as successful as of late, Miguel Torres is still one of the best fighters at 135. Nick Pace is solid but still may be a little too “green” to give Torres any trouble.
Winner: Miguel Torres
Seth Baczynski Vs Matt Brown(170 lbs)
Although Matt Brown has been successful in his last fight, I feel it was less than impressive. Seth Baczynski should be able to submit Brown like he was in his last 3 of 4 fights.
Winner: Seth Baczynski
Shamar Bailey Vs Danny Castillo(155 lbs)
I’ll make this quick and easy. If Castillo can stay off of his back, he will easily defeat Bailey.
Winner: Danny Castillo
